It's so nice to use all the apples from the garden for lovely juices and desserts. And if you don't have apples growing on trees, you can buy a bag of flavourful apples from the supermarket and use it to make a gorgeous apple trifle with macaroons and whipped cream, among other delights. Itøs super easy and tastes amazing. Enjoy!

Directions

1. Peel the apples, remove the cores and cut the apples into smaller pieces.

2. Boil the apples in a pot with the lid on with sugar, water, vanilla seeds and the vanilla pod, until it has the consistency of compote. This takes about 10 minutes. If the compote gets too firm, you can add more water. Taste, leave the compote to cool and remove the vanilla pod.

3. Whip the cream to a soft whipped cream and crush the macaroons in a bag. Let the kids help - they'll find it super fun to be the macaroon crushers!

4. Now start with placing the apple compote at the bottom of a large bowl or small portion-glasses. Spread the crushed macaroons on top and finally top with whipped cream.

5. Enjoy!
