When your bananas are on the verge of being over-ripe, freeze them and make the yummiest banana ice cream instead of binning them. This is the recipe for the easiest banana ice cream, which you can whip up in no time. If you don't have frozen bananas ready, you can add a handful of ice cubes to the recipe. Enjoy!

Directions

1. Peel the bananas and split into smaller pieces. Freeze in a freezer bag. They'll be ready 6-12 hours later - depending on size and freezer.

2. Remove the seeds from the dates. Pop all the ingredients in a blender and blend away, until it has the consistency of soft serve. If you don't have frozen bananas available, add 6-8 ice cubes instead.

3. We suggest serving the ice cream topped with roasted, chopped nuts and dark chocolate.

4. Enjoy!

Tip

Tasks for kids in the kitchen: Let your kids remove the seeds from the dates and pop the ingredients into the blender.
