Here's the world's best and easiest porridge. Yep, really! It's every bit as creamy as it should be, and you can top it with whatever you like best. Here we've used fresh berries. Enjoy!

Directions

1. Add oats, water and a pinch of salt to a pot, and bring to the boil while stirring.

2. Once the porridge is boiling, lower the heat so it's only just about simmering. Let it thicken for a few minutes, while you stir frequently to keep it from burning.

3. Add milk and let boil for another couple of minutes, still while stirring. Have a taste, and maybe add a bit more salt if needed – but bear in mind that kids shouldn't consume too much salt.

4. Meanwhile, toast the pumpkin seeds on a dry pan for a couple of minutes.

5. Serve the porridge with toasted seeds, berries, cinnamon sugar, or whatever you and your family like best on top of porridge. Enjoy!

Tip

Tasks for younger kids in the kitchen: Let your kids help add the ingredients to the pot and stirring. They can also help taste, and decorate with berries and seeds.
