Making this playdough with the kids is so much fun! It gets soft and pleasant to touch, and you don't need to worry about all sorts of chemical nonsense that no one can pronounce anyway..! You can make the playdough any colours you and the kids fancy. Although the playdough is made from edible materials, it is not for intended for eating. And... go!

Directions

1. Mix all ingredients, barring food colouring, in a pot. Stir well and cook it through for 2-3 minutes, until gathered into an even sort of batter.

2. Remove the pot from the hob and let it cool. Once it's cool enough to handle, you can knead the dough in your hands - you can knead it in someone elses hands as well, but it's definitely easier to use your own..!

3. Split into portions, that match the number of different food colours you have. Make a hole in each portion and pour a bit of food colouring in. Pop some rubber gloves or freezer bags on your hands, and knead the colouring into the dough. When the colour stops transferring, you can knead it with your bare hands.

4. Now all there's left to do is mould, shape, stick out and play, with as many imaginary creatures as your family can think of!

5. Store the playdough in an airtight container.

6. Enjoy!

Tip

Tasks for kids in the kitchen: Let your kids help pour ingredients into the pot. They can also stir the pot, and help knead the dough into playdough.
