Green smoothie with spinach, ginger, mint and banana

  • banana
  • avocado
  • 0.5 bunchfresh mint
  • 2 cmfresh ginger
  • 50 gramsfrozen spinach*
  • 50 mlwater
  • 1.5 tbspsyrup
  • lime
  • 10 ice cube

Greens are good for the eyes – and the palate! This smoothie is all in on the colour green, with spinach, avocado, mint and lime. It's the perfect booster smoothie, either for breakfast or as an afternoon snack. Enjoy!

Directions

1. Add banana, avocado meat, approx. 20 mint leaves, peeled ginger, spinach, water, syrup, the juice of a lime and ice cubes to a blender – or use a hand blender in a jug. Blend on full whack, until the smoothie is completely smooth and lump free.

2. Add syrup and lime juice as needed to your taste, and serve in glasses with straws. Use metal or paper straws if you can – they're much better for the planet. Enjoy!

Tip

Tasks for younger kids in the kitchen: Let your kids help add the ingredients to the blender. They'll of course have to help with tasting as well!
