We've whipped up the yummiest frozen banana slices with a peanutbutter centre and dark chocolate coating. They're highly addictive – we're just saying.. Enjoy!

Directions

1. Peel the bananas and cut into slices about 2 cm thick. Spread a layer of peanutbutter onto a slice of banana, and stick together with another slice of banana.

2. Place the little banana sandwiches on a piece of baking parchment and pop into the freezer for 4-5 hours – until frozen.

3. Break the chocolate into smaller pieces and place in a glass or ceramic bowl. Melt the chocolate in the microwave or over a bain marie. To use the bain marie method, bring a pot of water to the boil and place the bowl of chocolate into the water, not touching the bottom of the pot. It's important that the bowl either has handles, or is a bit larger than the pot, so it doesn't tip into the water. Stir the chocolate frequently, until completely melted.

4. And now we get to the faffy chocolate bit! Place a piece of baking parchment on a plate. Carefully dip the frozen banana bits into the chocolate using a fork. Make sure the chocolate layer is as thin as possible. Place each chocolate covered banana bit on the parchment as you go, then pop into the fridge to cool.

5. Once the chocolate is dry, it's snack time – these little treats are perfect for combatting low blood sugar.

6. Store the banana treats in an airtight container in the fridge. Enjoy!

Tip

Tasks for kids in the kitchen: Let your kids slice the bananas. They can also break up the chocolate.
