Fried onion rings are a bit sinful, but amazingly delicious! We recommend using them as topping on a tasty hot dog with wholewheat bread and a nice sausage. Enjoy!

1. Slice the onion into thin slices with your best and sharpest knife - or even better: With a mandolin slicer, which can be found in most kitchen shops or big supermarkets. Whisk egg and milk in a bowl and get the onion rings nice and coated in the mixture.

2. Put flour, corn flour, breadcrumbs, salt, baking powder, paprika and a dash of pepper into a large freezer bag and shake well. Pop a few of the onion rings into a bag and shake well, so all the onion rings are nicely coated in the flour mix. Repeat with the rest of the rings. You can also coat the onion rings with the mix using a large bowl.

3. Warm up the oil in a deep pan or pot. Once the oil starts to sizzle when you place an onion ring in, it's hot enough to add the rest. Fry the onions for a minute or two, until beautifully golden. Let them drip off on some kitchen roll, and season with salt.

4. Enjoy!
