Fried onion rings are a bit sinful, but taste incredible! We suggest using them as scrumptious topping on hot dogs with wholewheat buns and a nice grill sausage. Enjoy!
Directions
1. Thinly slice the onions with your best and sharpest knife - or even better; with a mandolin, which you'll find in most well assorted supermarkets. Beat egg and milk in a bowl, and get the onion rings well mixed in.
2. Pour flour, corn flour, breadcrumbs, salt, baking powder, paprika and some pepper into a large freezer bag and shake well. Now add a bit of the onion rings to the bag and give it a good shake, so all the rings are coated well in the flour mix. Repeat with the remaining onion rings a few at a time. You could also coat the onion rings in the flour mix in a large bowl.
3. Heat the oil in a deep pan or pot. Once the oil starts to sizzle when you poke an onion ring into it, it's hot enough. Now fry the onion rings for a minute or two, until golden. Leave to drip off on some kitchen roll and season with salt.
4. Enjoy!
