Chocolate mousse is an unquestionable dessert classic. And for good reason! The sweet and airy mousse tastes incredible, and isn't hard to make at all. Here's the recipe for the gorgeous classic. Enjoy!

Directions

1. Coarsely chop the chocolate. Melt over a bain marie along with butter, by placing a glass or metal bowl into a pot of simmering water – keeping the bowl clear of the bottom. You can also pop butter and chocolate in a glass bowl into the microwave for 30 seconds on medium power. Stir the bowl and heat for another 30 seconds. Carry on until completely melted.

2. Whip the cream in a bowl until stiff, being careful not to overwork it and cause it to split.

3. Whisk egg yolks and sugar in another bowl, until fluffy and white. Whisk the egg whites until stiff in a.. third (!) bowl.

4. Once the melted chocolate has cooled slightly, but is still liquid, gently mix into the whisked egg yolks. Then carefully fold in the egg whites, then the whipped cream. We suggest using a rubber spatula.

5. Divide the mousse into 6-8 servings and refrigerate for about 5 hours – or overnight.

6. And it's finally time to enjoy the fruits of your labour. Yay – and enjoy!
