- 250 gramsapples
- 250 gramsplums
- 200 gramssugar
- 50 mlwater
- 1 tspvanilla sugar
- 3 star anise
- food preservative- like Atamon
- jam jar

This plum and apple marmalade is super tasty, and goes perfectly with late summer and autumn, when there's plenty of fruit on the trees! We've added anise, which adds an almost almond-y liquorice flavour. You can happily swap plums for other fruits, such as peaches or pears. Enjoy!
Directions
1. Peel the apples, remove the cores and cut the apples into smaller pieces. Remove the stones and cut plums into smaller chunks.
2. Cook apples and plums in a pot with the lid on along with sugar, water, vanilla sugar and star anise, until the consistency is that of thin marmalade - bear in mind that it will thicken as it cools. This takes about 15 minutes. If the marmalade gets too firm, you can add a bit more water.
3. Optionally, add some food preservative according to the packet or bottle, if you want the marmalade to keep for a long time Otherwise, pour the warm marmalade into jam jars, scalded in boiling water first. Close the jars and leave to cool.
