The panini is the Italian take on the classic ham and cheese toastie from the cafeteria. And at the risk of falling out with café-enthusiasts everywhere, a homemade panini just tastes better! We've filled ours with pesto, parma ham, mozzarella, tomato and lettuce. Enjoy!
Directions
1. Preheat your toaster or sandwich press - or preheat your oven to 200 degrees convection.
2. Split the breads lengthways and spread pesto. Add washed lettuce, parma ham, rinsed sliced tomato and mozzarella. Brush the breads with a bit of olive oil across the top and chuck them in the sandwich press, or ovenbake until golden on top and the cheese has melted.
3. Serve with carrot and washed cucumber cut into sticks for snack veggies.
4. Enjoy!
Tip
We recommend making an extra panini or two for the little ones' - it's a definite winner.
